Sad, Silent Saturday, the Day before Easter
Good Morning on "Sad Saturday" the day of great anguish and mourning for Jesus' original disciples...because...
They knew of Jesus' death but had no hope or dream of a Resurrection.
You will hear no sermons about this day because the Scriptures are nearly completely silent on the topic. But I imagine great...
Great Sadness and the recitation of the Psalms of misery. When the Messiah dies how can there be ANY Hope left?
Ah, but wait for Tomorrow, my friends, Just Wait for Tomorrow!!
---------
To further elaborate on the theme of this day:
The Church Era we live in is also a Sad, Silent "Saturday" because...
We Christians live in the Great Parenthesis of the Ages, with a great gulp of sadness in our chest.
The Savior is Ascended and in this time of Chaos and Pain the world waits for His Second Coming.
Oh how much pain and suffering we know of ...
-Africa with nary a note from the so-called, developed world, dies in poverty...
-Little children die all over the world from bullets of hate spilling from the guns of the so-called Grown Ups
-China squashes its citizens with oppression
-Europe and America gnash teeth over financial loss, dollars of vapor on which we hope for our future comfort.
But the world in Silent Slumber waits for the Savior we hardly think about.
Jesus is the Ultimate Gentleman. He said that He would return. And I take Him for His word, waiting with tears in my eyes, a tightness in my chest, and IMMENSE HOPE....HOPE for his Imminent Reappearance, tying Easter with His Return in my sinful, cleansed heart.
